Safety at Deer Run

Parking Lot Safety

Please park in marked parking spots. Over the past few weeks, there has been dangerous parking seen. When cars park illegally on school grounds, our families and students are at risk. Children and their adults have needed to jump out of the way of cars driving recklessly in the parking lot. Please be kind to your children's classmates and their adults.

Any spaces with a yellow curb are no parking spots.

iReady Data Reports

iReady Literacy and Numeracy Reports were sent out through the Parent Square portal on Friday, November 14.

These reports provide a snapshot of your child’s progress based on data from the beginning of the school year.

Moving forward, the District will send iReady reports at mid-year and at the end of the school year.

This report is one piece of data that will be discussed during your child’s conference.
Your child’s teacher will also review current classroom assessment measures.

News from the Nurse

Deer Run Pre-K Families,

The State of Connecticut requires all children enrolled in Pre-K to receive a flu shot by December 31, 2025. I recommend scheduling an appointment with his/her pediatrician soon. I prefer to have these flu shots documented prior to the winter school break which begins on December 19, 2025. Unfortunately, without proper documentation, your Pre-K student will be excluded when school resumes 01/05/2026.

You may contact me if you have questions.

Warm Regards,

Karen Riccio, RN

Thank You!

Each Deer Run child was given $10.00 to shop at the book fair. This was made possible by the many families that support our fundraisers and the many family volunteers.

Thank you for all of our families and students that shopped at the Book Fair. The Fair will be open on Monday and Tuesday during parent/teacher conferences and on Monday from 9:30-10:30.

Thank you!!
